Percy Jackson series: by Rick Riordan
Many of the books I read are series. I like reading such books cuz it takes longer to finish them and there is always suspense between one book and the next.
The first series that I loved very much was the Percy Jackson series.
These series are all about Greek mythology. They are like a journal of a demi-god (half-god, half-human) who is supposedly the child of a prophecy. The first book is all about Percy finding out about his powers, how he travels to Camp Half Blood (a camp for demi-gods) etc etc.
Rick Riordan explains each Greek Legend that comes up in the book. I didn't know much about Greek Legends and myths when I first read Percy Jackson but soon, I caught up with the book.
Percy Jackson is probably best if you read it in a systematic way, meaning you read the first book then the next. If you plunge into the story in the 3rd book, you might not be able to understand a thing of whats happening.
Well, here is how it goes:
At the end of these series, after the first great prophecy is fulfilled, they find out the next great prophecy, which is the starting for the next series:
Next Great Prophecy:
Seven Half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall,
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

- Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth
- Percy Jackson and the last Olympian
"Look, I didn't want to be a half blood.
If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal life.
Being a half blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful, nasty ways.
If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of this ever happened.
But if you recognize yourself in these pages- if you feel something stirring inside- stop reading immediately. You might be one of us. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they sense it too, and they'll come for you.
Don't say I didn't warn you."
