Inkheart Trilogy

The Ink heart Trilogy: by Cornelia Funke
"Every story ever written, is just      waiting to become real."
I was given Ink Heart when I was 9 years old. I looked at the book and I thought: "Wow! That is one big book!" At that time, I was not ready to read it, it was around 500-600 pages or so. About 2 years later, I took the book in my hands and started reading it. Again. This time though, as I was older, I understood much more and found it an amazing, descriptive story and I wondered why I hadn't liked it before.

The plot goes like this:

Meggie is a normal 12-year old girl whose father, Mortimer (also known as Mo), is a bookbinder. Or so she thinks.
Little does Meggie know that though her father is a bookbinder, he also has the power to read characters out of books.

When Meggie was a small girl, her father had read aloud the story Inkheart to her mother. At the time, Mo had not known his power. By accident, he read out the evil villain Capricorn and his sidekicks into their world. The only problem was, that when characters came out of the book, somebody had to go in. Thus, Meggie's mom went missing from her world.

She had few memories of her mother and thus did not know what was the cause of her mother's disappearance. Ever since, Mo had secretly been searching for another copy of  Inkheart  so as to read Meggie's mother back out of the story.

But one fine day, Dustfinger- a fire-dancer who Mo read out of the story and who wants to get back to his family- finds out where Mortimer lives and thus, Meggie finds out about her father's power.

To get the last copy of the book, Dustfinger helps Capricorn to capture Mo and Meggie and her great-aunt Elinor. Capricorn wants Mo to read him treasure out of books. Well, Mo reads out treasure, as well as a boy as his reading can become unpredictable.

To find out the rest of the story, read the book cuz I can't tell you everything!
